If you are like me than you are definitely a breakfast person! They say that breakfast is most important daily meal
and it should be nourishing and have the most in it in order to boost your energy and give you enough strength to
start your day. But even I, as a breakfast lover, sometimes have situations when it’s not enough time to prepare or
eat it and I need to find something to snack on during the work. When this happens you eat all what you see and
thoughts about how healthy your breakfast is probably the last you’re thinking about.
This post will be dedicated to 10 healthy breakfast ideas for your home or on the go so whenever you will be rushing
to meetings or having a lazy moment in home you’ll know what to start your day from.
I know it sounds lame but it’s very healthy.
I prefer the instant oats, just pour the hot water and let it stay for
5 minutes while you brush your teeth and wash your face. Add sliced bananas, berries, nuts, chia seeds, dries fruits
– any of this will do fine and enjoy your breakfast! I don’t use any sweeteners, but you can also add honey,
molasses or maple syrup.
2. Vanilla yogurt & granola (+ fruits or berries).
Fastest and easiest.
I like to add granola to low fat vanilla yogurt overnight (so that granola would soften a bit) and top it with
berries or banana in the morning! That’s it, you’re ready to eat it at home or take it to the work with you.
3. Multigrain toasts.
Fast, easy, time saving and very healthy.
Simply warm the toasts (in toaster) and add smashed avocado with egg or
smoked salmon and for the sweeter option use the old Peanut butter and jelly combination.
4. Scrambled eggs or omelette.
Option for the weekends or if you have the time in the morning.
For the scrambled eggs I prefer to add hard cheese
and garnish with salad leaves, as for the omelette – spinach and goat cheese are my one and only option 🙂
5. Oat Muffins (with dried fruits and nuts).
Easy to do, cook once and eat few days option. Perfect with tea or coffee.
Plain muffins may sound boring but with
the dried fruits and nuts they turn to sweet, fun and colourful option!
6. Fruit salad with quinoa (almond + berries).
One more on the go option, slice the fruits in advance and sprinkle with lime or lemon juice (so they won’t go
In the morning add cooked quinoa and mix with with honey/lemon dressing.
7. Tomato and Ricotta sandwich.
I am ricotta cheese lover! Multi-grain bread topped with ricotta and sliced tomato on top, sprinkled with sea or
celery salt and cayenne pepper it’s the best combination for me! You can also add ham, smoked chicken or turkey to
make it even more tasteful!
8. Whole-grain toaster waffles.
Easiest way to start your day.
Most of the stores have them in the freezers section (be careful with reading the
labels and go for the natural, multi or whole-grain ones) so you just have to toast them, garnish with fruits or
berries and honey.
9. Breakfast Galette.
Still one of my to bake things.
I’ve tried it and I loved it! Need to bake it on my own as it’s so fast and simple. There are tons of the things
you can fill them out with, one of my faves are apples, eggs and green onion, spinach and cheese, blueberries.
10. Protein smoothie.
Last on the go option.
What I love about it is that you can mix it in the evening, pour in the glass container and drink for the next 2
One that I love is of course strawberry-banana smoothie. The recipe is very simple, mix 2 cups strawberries, 1 1/2
cup banana, 1 1/2 cup water. In the morning add 2 scoops of protein powder and 2 table spoons of chia seeds, shake
it all. Drink after 15 minutes.
