It’s getting slightly colder outside and our mornings started to change a bit. Instead of yogurt and granola we switched to muffins and scones 🙂
Well this is the simplest and easiest scones recipe that I found, follow it and you’ll be enjoying yourself soon enough.
Makes 10-12 scones.
3 2/3 cups of all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons of baking powder
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup milk (I’ve used butter milk) and some for glazing
jam to serve
Preheat over to 425F, line baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix in a bowl sifted flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add the butter and rub it in with your fingers until the structure will look like bread crumbs. Make a well in center and pour in the milk (butter milk), mix together until the dough will become soft.
Flatten the dough (half inch thick) on a lightly floured surface and cut out scones using a 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter. Place on the lined sheet, brush with a little milk and bake in preheated over for 10-12 minutes. Cool and serve.
