The calendar summer might be over, but it’s still here (till September 22nd as they say). And while we all shop for the fall basics and think that it’s about time to start rearranging the closet, we still have the opportunity to wear out beloved summer items.
To me, it’s two things: denim jacket (which you’ll see in an upcoming post) and summer dresses. While not all summer dresses look appropriate for the fall transition some of them are perfect for that.
Some of the criteria that I follow when keeping the summer dress for fall are:
- length – it must be knee length or longer.
- color – I stick to either solid colors or small print on classic color such as white, navy, mauve or dusty pink.
- fabric – must be thick enough to keep me warm on chilly September nights, or lined.
- style – a-line or a shift dresses are best for that.
